1. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement and is accessible on this site, please notify us immediately. To file a notice of infringement with us, you must provide a written communication that sets forth the items specified below.

Please note that you will be liable for damages (including costs and attorneys’ fees) if you materially misrepresent that a product or activity is infringing your copyrights. If you are not sure whether material located on this site infringes your copyright, we suggest that you first contact an attorney.

Your Notice must include the following information:
  1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works at that site.
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the material (e.g., specific URLs on Curiosity Engine).
  4. Information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an electronic mail address.
  5. A statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

3. Our Response

Upon receipt of a valid notice complying with the requirements above, we will:

  • Investigate the claim.

  • Attempt to notify the user who posted the content that we have removed or disabled access to the material.
  • Terminate repeat infringers’ access to the service.

4. Counter-Notification

If you believe that your content was removed in error, you may file a counter-notification with us. A counter-notice must contain substantially the same information required for a takedown notice (including a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed in error).

We will make the removed content available within 10-14 business days of receiving a valid counter-notice, unless we receive notice from the copyright owner that they have filed a legal action to restrain the infringement.
